2022 Charitable Donations

As we depart Key West, knowing Gulf Shores is home to the 31st PHIP MOTM, you can’t not reflect upon the memories we have made here.  Although it a bitter sweet good bye, know many of us will still visit.  There will always be a connection to cayo Hueso and it’s people.

From the entire Parrot Head nation, we love you Key West.  And please know we left our host community in a better place each year than when we arrived.

This years local charity donations include:

$3000 to Wesley House Family Services
(they were the first check presented our first year in Key West and this year the last check we presented).

  • Wesley House Family Services is a nationally accredited not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and nurturing children and strengthening families with services spanning Monroe County, Florida.

$2000 and 73 toys to the Salvation Army of Key West

  • Emergency Financial Assistance
  • Food Pantry
  • Disaster Services
  • Holiday Assistance

$3000 to Sister Season Fund – Locals helping Locals

  • Our mission is to focus on the Hospitality/Tourism related Industry employees, who have become temporarily out of work, through no fault of their own, may it be Illness, Accident or a Natural disaster, such as Hurricanes and Covid-19.
  • Our Funding is awarded to the applicants Landlord for rent, and Utilities Companies for their utilities.

$3000 to Star of the Sea Foundation – S.O. S. Foundation

  • Our mission at SOS Foundation is to provide goods and services to the indigent and underprivileged residents of Monroe County Florida.  We will do so with respect and compassion, and at no cost to these individuals, without regard to race, creed or religion.

$3000 to Bahama Village Music Program

  • The Bahama Village Music Program provides free musical education and instruction to children aged 6 to 16 in our community. BVMP is more than just an educational institution, our program creates a great sense of community spirit and pride, fosters important mentor relationships between local teenage musicians and their students, encourages parent participation, and enhances student’s self-esteem.

$3000 and 90 pair of shoes to Cheryl Cates Memorial Foundation

  • The mission of the Cheryl Cates Memorial Foundation is to assist families and children in need in Monroe County, Florida and improve their quality of life by making grants directly to them and other charitable organizations in order to meet needs that are not otherwise being addressed.

172 Parrot Heads made appointments and donated 157 pints for One Blood on the Big Red Bus. We are the largest blood drive in the Florida Keys. Over the years we have touched 9000 lives of those in need of blood.

Last but not least, Team Parrot Head participated in the 30th ABC Zonta Walk for Brest Cancer.

Fins up!

The generosity of Parrot Heads never ceases to amaze us.
Thank you.
“Party with a Purpose”
is exactly what we did at the 30th MOTM.
